The opening scene starts off with a man (Richard Cory) walking on a street in the the middle of a town.
Scene 1
Worker 1: Hello Rich, How are you doing on this fine afternoon
Cory: Im well, thanks
Worker 2: Hey Mr. Cory!
Worker 3: Cory! Hows it goin?
Worker 4: Richard! Hey!
Cory: Gentlmen?.....
Scene 2
(Mean while Richard Cory goes to have some lunch in a fancy restaurant).
Waiter: Hello Mr. cory, how are you today?
Cory: im fine thanks, how are you.
Waiter:Im doin pretty good. Want the usual?
Cory: That would be great, thanks.
(He stairs out the window as he's eating his meal, and notices workers; united and all together, always with someone, never alone. then he looks at the emty seat next to him; back at the workers; again at the seat. He's missing something, someone. He thinks back in his life and sees how he became very sucessfull and very wealthy. Then he looks at the workers again, still just working together until sunset. He leaves the restaurant, over paying as he walks out.)
Waiter: Wait you forgot your change!
(He just keeps on walking)
Scene 3
Worker 1: heyyy cory. whats wrong you look upset?
Cory: ill just see you guys later...
(cory goes home and realizes that while the workers enved him, the truth was that he enved the workers. He wanted their life. It took him until now to realize that it doesnt matter how uch money you have, if you have no one to share it with, then its piontless to have it at all. He wishes and prays to god never to be alone again. He shoots him self.)
